Lou and his team have been busy building the V-Bottom Skiff in his Tips From A Shipwright boat shop. He’s already planked and fiberglassed the first layer of the boat’s bottom, and now he’s ready for the second layer. Sandwiched together with High Performance Epoxy between the two layers, the bottom planks are primed first with straight-up epoxy to make the planks better absorb the thickened epoxy. Lou then creates a thickened batch and pours it onto the boat bottom to extend the working time. This is the glue layer that will fill any gaps and form the best bond for this important part of the boat. Tune into today’s video of the week with Lou and marvel as the boat flies together.
