Acorn to Arabella: In the Bilge and on the Mast

Back in the Massachusetts boat shop where the Atkins ketch, Arabella, is being built, Alix and Steve are working on some satisfying pieces of the boat, from the heights of their wooden mast, down into the bilge. Stringers are going into the hull and the temporary stainless bolts that held the planks are being replaced by copper rivets.  Alix is using Thixo Flex to bond graving pieces into the mast which will then be painted. The boat shop is busy and progress is visible as the boat takes shape. Steve is still making oak panels for bulkheads and panels and is gluing them up with High Performance epoxy – so no one sits idle waiting for the next project. It’s all hands on and below deck! Follow along!
